DIY Project: Halloween Painted Pumpkins 🎃

Ready for some spooky fun? Here’s our step by step DIY guide to creating cute and ghoulish paint designs on your pumpkins with those leftover tester pots (we know they’re laying around 😉).

This is the perfect activity for a night in with friends, a date with your significant other, or quality time with your kids.

What you’ll need:

  1. A bin back to keep the surface you’re painting on clean
  2. Pumpkins and/or squash
  3. Your leftover Fleetwood Tester Pots
  4. Fleetwood Tester Pots paint brushes
  5. Artists brushes for small details.
Let’s get started!
  • Remove any stickers and wash your pumpkin in the sink with warm water and soap to get rid of dirt and residue. Air dry them or pat them with a cloth or kitchen roll sheet.

  • Assemble your paints and plan the colour combinations you’d like.
    • The colours we used: Pure Brilliant White, Twilight Purple, Pistachio Shell, Pink Marshmallow, & Irish Marmalade
  • If painting the whole pumpkin one colour, leave it to dry before painting your designs.
    • Keep in mind that dry time may be shorter or longer depending on the size of your pumpkin or squash.

  • While waiting for your base colour to dry, plan out your design or improvise! We opted for a cute & spooky theme.
  • Don’t be afraid to use your hands to make fun designs!
    • Tip: Thumbs are perfect for making little spider bodies and the base of the ghost eyes. Just be sure to wash your hands after!

  • Let dry and voila! Your pumpkins are uniquely yours and ready to adorn your porch and welcome trick-or-treaters.
