Colour Highlight – YSL BLUE

 

The KLD Collection with Fleetwood Paints features 20 vibrant and mellow shades curated by our brand ambassador Róisín Lafferty of Kingston Lafferty Design.

YSL Blue was created by Róisín in response to her affinity with Marrakesh – “I adore the rich and saturated tones of Moroccon Design. With a blue you have more opportunity to play with the finish and with YSL Blue you can push this colour to go with a high gloss for more impact. It is a bold and brave colour and be bold and brave with how you use it.” 

Blue in interior design is used the world over by interior designers. To encourage light in dark rooms, blue will be often used, especially in dens and library rooms, and for spaces with lots of light, blue will absorb it, pulling the room together.

YSL injects a positive tone in a space, complementing many colour combinations and a strong stand alone colour.  This blue will take on distinct appearances in a matt and sheen for walls and in eggshell and satinwood for woodwork , being the only blue in the collection it is truly one-of-a-kind.

A bold and sleek colour choice for those looking a classic statement colour in the kitchen. YSL in a flat matt finish for your cabinets pairs excellently with the dark wooden stools and neutral surrounds.

Blue is the universal favourite for bedrooms, promoting peacefulness and tranquility. Blue is reminiscent of the sky and the sea and has the ability to cocoon and soothe you, preparing you for a great night sleep. YSL is the most beautiful of blues for light-filled bedrooms with high ceilings.

 

Living Rooms

Being a ‘profoundly blue’ Blue, YSL plays very well with whites and lights to create a modern and timeless aesthetic. To keep a blue and crisp white colour combo warm, include tan and warm neutral textures and fabrics into the mix.

 

YSL Blue can be mixed into Fleetwood Prestige paint only.
