There’s a quiet, confident elegance running through every corner of  Aodhain’s renovated home, a space built on soft whites, warm timbers and a beautifully restrained palette that allows light to do the talking. The overall feeling is one of calm modernity, the kind of home where nothing shouts, yet everything feels intentional.

A home defined by subtle detail and serene neutrals

Across the living areas, kitchen and hallway, Aodhain leans into gentle, grounded tones: creamy whites, soft beige upholstery, pale wood floors and beautifully simple styling. The joinery is clean and unfussy, the accessories minimal, and the overall mood unmistakably tranquil. This cool neutral palette feels warm and enveloping in its sense of everyday comfort.

A Gentle flow from room to room

As you move through the house, the sense of ease continues from room to room. Light pours through each space, highlighting the soft textures, natural materials and pared-back styling that define Aodhain’s approach. Even small design choices, a cluster of ceramics, a simple sprig of greenery, a well-placed timber accent, add character without disturbing the tranquillity.

A hint of contrast in the hallway

There’s also a subtle moment of contrast in the hallway, where the staircase introduces a slightly deeper tone. It’s a gentle architectural feature that adds definition to the space while still sitting comfortably within the overall neutral palette.

We asked Aodhain to talk us through her colour choices

“When Fleetwood asked me to talk through the colours I chose for this project, I was delighted! The quality is reliable, the tones are beautifully nuanced, and because they’re an Irish brand, it felt like a natural fit for a home that’s all about calm, grounded design.

One of the first shades I settled on was Snowbound from the Popular Colours Collection. I love how it behaves in different light, warm, gentle and quietly uplifting. We used it throughout the main living areas, and it gives those spaces a softness that feels inviting from morning right through to evening. It’s a neutral, but not in a way that feels flat or predictable.

For the bedrooms, I wanted something soothing but still characterful, so I chose First Star on the walls and On the Rocks for the wardrobes. The pairing has a subtle depth to it, familiar and comforting, especially alongside natural linens and lightly aged wood. It helped create the restful atmosphere I always aim for in sleeping spaces. First Star CP0020

In the snug, I decided to introduce a deeper note with Green Street. It’s one of those colours that instantly transforms a room. It has an earthy richness that feels cocooning without being heavy. The moment it went on the walls, the space felt warm, intimate and connected to the outdoors which is exactly what I wanted from that little retreat!

Overall, my aim was to create a palette that felt timeless, tonal and effortless. Fleetwood made that incredibly easy. Their colours strike the perfect balance between softness and character, and the finish across every room has been flawless.”
