About the Position
We are now seeking a General Operative to work as part of the team in our production department in Virginia. This role is versatile and will involve supporting different areas depending on operational needs. Flexibility, reliability, and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork are essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Picking, packing and preparing orders
- Loading and unloading products and materials
- Sorting, moving and rotating stock
- Operating picking scanners and basic systems
- Packing finished products onto pallets
- Labelling products in accordance with quality standards
- Assisting with cleaning, changeovers, and general housekeeping
- Supporting line set-ups, including changing wrap rolls
- Operating of production equipment as required
- Carrying out general duties to support operational needs
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-moving environment
- Ability to move materials manually and/or using mechanical aids
- Strong work ethic with good attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience desirable
- Stock rotation experience preferable
- Basic computer skills
- Forklift experience or licence preferred (training can be provided)
Qualification, Experience and Skills Desirable:
- General Operative competencies would be advantageous.
- Should possess reasonable competence around computers, printers and other IT equipment.
