Lana Dullaghan’s Tips For Colour Sampling

Colour choice paralysis is real, and you’re not alone. Finding the perfect hue for your walls can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. But fear not! Our expert interior designer, Lana Dullaghan, is here to rescue you from the colour chaos.

Here are six tips from Lana on choosing that perfect colour for your next project:

  1. Paint the samples on the wall where you want the colour.
  2. Paint big samples and use 2 coats of paint.
  3. Space your colour options far out from each other. Unless you are trying to decide on a palette for your room, then they can be placed more closely together.
  4. Test your colours on multiple walls in the room. This will help you see how it looks in different lighting!
  5. Check on your samples and see how the colour changes throughout the day.
  6. Remember that it’s not only about colour! Consider your colour palette as a whole and any furniture or accessories you have in the room.

Testing colours on your walls is crucial before making a final decision. Factors like existing furniture, room orientation, and natural light significantly impact how a colour appears. Consider these elements to ensure your chosen hue complements your space perfectly.

Pick up a tester pot at your local stockist today. Some colours are available off the shelf and others will need to be mixed.
