Colours for Easterly Facing Rooms

East-facing rooms are a blessing, basking in the warm glow of the morning sun. But with this abundant natural light comes a unique set of challenges when it comes to choosing the perfect paint colour. That lovely morning light will tun into a cool, bluish tint, making it tricky to choose the right colours for your walls.

The key to selecting the right hue lies in understanding how you’ll primarily use the space. 

Evening Retreat: If you’re seeking a tranquil escape after a long day, consider soft blues and greens. These cool tones will harmonise with the cooler evening light, creating a serene and calming atmosphere.

Morning Muse: If you’re a morning person who loves to start your day in this sunlit space, bright and lively colors will complement the vibrant morning light. Yellows and oranges counteract the cool tones of easterly facing light to keep the room warmer throughout the day.  

When choosing whites… 

Our interior designer Patricia Wakely suggests whites with warmer undertones in them to avoid a clinical look in the cool lighting. To warm up your room or your east-facing exterior, the more natural tones of Greek White create a welcoming environment.
